EURO 2024 qualifying groups drawn: England face Italy challenge

Stage set for Germany finals after draw

England will face Italy, Ukraine, North Macedonia, Malta and San Marino in their qualifying group for the 2024 European Championship, following the draw in Frankfurt. The Three Lions will be aiming to reach the finals in Germany, which will be staged from June 14 to July 14. England are in Group C alongside Italy, who they beat in the final of Euro 2020 at Wembley. Ukraine, North Macedonia, Malta and San Marino complete the group. Germany, as hosts, are not in the draw. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the finals. The remaining three group winners will enter the play-offs, along with the three best-placed runners-up. The play-offs will take place in March 2024, with the winners of the three ties joining the 20 automatic qualifiers at the finals. The draw for the qualifying groups was held on 9 October 2022 in Frankfurt. Pots 1-4 were used to create seven groups of four teams and three groups of five teams.
